May Day Campout - 2007

Since our tractor is, hopefully, temporarily incapacitated, the WVFF had to bring their lawn mowers to Leon and help mow the entire airport.  With a 3000 foot runway, that turns into several miles worth of mowing.  Thanks to everyone that helped out.

At some point a challenge was thrown down by Ed Wagonner regarding who had the fastest lawn tractor.  Ron Dixon rose to the challenge only to be left in Ed's dust.

On Friday night, everyone enjoyed sitting and swapping stories by the campfire, as well as roasting hotdogs over the fire.

Saturday morning was drizzly but the weather stayed calm all day.  Mickey was first in the air and then Bret and Josh took up the trikes.  Gretchen followed in the TBird.  Curtis took to the air but in a different way, a much slower way.  Bret then inflated his balloon as well and they both hopped around the airport.  Several people took short tethered flights in Curtis' balloon.

The weather was flyable all day in spite of the intermittent drizzle.  There was plenty of good food at the dinner.  We had some visitors with us this weekend including Kathryn Ridgeway who is Region 2's USUA Representative.  She and her family took several flights in the back seat of Mickey's XT912 Trike.
