July 4th Parade - 2007
Although the weather was quite warm, the winds and overcast sky made it feel quite cooler than it really was. Raine again secured the large trailer onto which several WVFF loaded Curtis' trike on the morning of July 4th. Ken and Phyllis Skeen, Gretchen, John Townsend and his wife, Mickey and his grandkids all road on the back of the trailer to the lower end of Buffalo where we always set up to decorate the float.
Several people brought various decorations to add to the float and we all helped tape, wire tie and stick them all onto the sides of the trailer and trike. I think this year's float looked better than all of the years past. The parade itself seemed larger than normal with all of the various floats, fire engines, tractors and horse drawn carts that participated.
After the parade and after we had taken the trailer/trike back to the airport, most of us headed to the Pack's for their annual Fourth of July cookout. There was plenty of food thanks to Kathy, swimming and other activities. Kevin brought down his unicycle and let several of us give it a go, unsuccessfully. Many stayed there until it was time for the Buffalo fire works at which time they headed back to town to watch them.
